Team Building Ideas and Touring Options

Planners looking for a teambuilding location will find Port Macquarie has a great range of team building activities on offer to keep delegates on their toes. Choose from teamwork scenarios such as cooking classes, kayaking races and bowling challenges, or character building activities such as hiking, Whale-watching and learn-to-surf sessions.

As a popular tourist destination, Port Macquarie has a wide range of leisure activities to suit your needs. With a combination of beach, river and hinterland attractions coupled with a warm climate year round, delegates can do as much or as little as they like.

Popular group activities delegates enjoy are:

  • Golf Days – Choose between 9 and 18 holes at Emerald Downs Golf Club. Clubs and cart are for hire and it’s open 7 days.
  • Brewery Tours – Sample boutique beer and tour the award winning microbrewery for a day out with a difference. (Max. 20 people to a tour)
  • Cooking Classes – Small classes with top guest chefs inspire and teach your delegates the art of cooking your favourite cuisine using local fresh produce.
  • River Cruises – Cruise the waterways of Port Macquarie, enjoy an al-fresco lunch and watch for dolphins swimming with the cruiser.
  • Pat a Koala – Take your group on an educational tour of Billabong Koala and Wildlife Park to learn all about the Koala Breeding program.

Greater Port Macquarie Tourism will organise and coordinate a tour programme especially for your delegates and partners, with the ability to facilitate all bookings.

Some favourite options include:

Wine Tasting

Cassegrain Lunch and Winery Tour

A half-day tour that includes sampling award-winning Cassegrain wines from the cellar door and a tour of the facility, where the wines are made. Then, enjoy an al fresco lunch overlooking the manicured gardens and rows of vines.

Sea Acres Rainforest Centre Bush Tucker Tours

Sea Acres Rainforest Centre is a place of natural beauty protecting rare coastal rainforest at Shelly Beach. There is an elevated boardwalk through the rainforest (wheelchair-accessible), an information centre, gift shop and café. Take a Bush Tucker Tour with a local Aboriginal guide through the rainforest, sample the delightful cuisine from the Rainforest Café created with local native bush herbs and spices and learn how to cook using these fabulous flavours.
