Upcycled Random Weave Bowl/Platter or Sculpture Workshop

Cooeee Sistas Art Workshops is excited to present local Aboriginal artist Debbs Robinson, a traditional and contemporary weaver, in three fun-filled Random Weaving hours making a bowl, platter or sculpture.

They've got an abundance of organic material for you to use. They have locally harvested flexible fruit branches, Lomandra, various other strong types of grass, bulrushes (cumbungi), strappy Watsonia leaves, aged passionfruit and grape vines, daylilies, cordyline, palm sheaths and palm inflorescence.

Random basket weaving is a mindful, joyous creative play journey that has no bounds. You will learn about foraging for organic materials, what works and what doesn’t, harvesting, and drying materials, how to establish and structure your basket, bowl or platter, different styles of weaving and techniques and how to decorate your finished masterpieces.

Afternoon tea will be provided to tickle your taste buds. All materials are supplied but you are welcome to bring weaving materials you may have at home to make your weave personal to you.
