Weave an Organic Summer Hat Workhsop

Learn how to weave and decorate an easy, useful, strong, and attractive hat, in a special afternoon of weaving, learning, sharing knowledge, laughing and enjoying delicious food and drinks.

Most of all, you will be communing with like-minded people in a calming atmosphere right on the foreshores of the sparkling Hastings River in splendid Birpai Country.

All materials supplied (reeds, decorations), along with the knowledge and know-how to achieve weaving success to walk away with an awesome handmade hat. Local Aboriginal weaver and artist, Debbs Robinson has been harvesting and collecting a plethora of mostly organic fibres and materials for you to use in this workshop to make your very own 'handmade by you with love' Spring hat!

It's a fantastic feeling to get out into the bush and collect, forage, clean and store all sorts of found, natural items and weave them into a useful object that eventually leaves a silent footprint.

If you've got something special you'd like to weave into your hat, please bring those items along. Enjoy a peaceful afternoon weaving near the river.
