There may be a bit of a chill in the air but there is plenty of action, adventure and fun to warm you up over these Winter School Holidays.  Check out our holiday highlights and keep the kids busy with plenty of boredom busting activities, there are heaps of exciting experiences to make the whole family smile.

  • Glasshouse Sprouts Activities
  • Get crafty with kids art classes

    Our children may be little but their imaginations are gigantic, so let them make new friends and grow their creativity at the Regional Art Gallery in the Sprouts Art Activities program  on 11, 14 & 18 July in Port Macquarie, these fun programs will also be in Laurieton on 12 July and Wauchope on 19 July.  Limited spots so book early.

  • Camp Port Macquarie is running a week of kids art, drama and music workshops during the first week of the holidays.  Each day there will be new projects in all activities that will keep children thinking out of the box.  A great opportunity for children from Year 1 to Year 6 to explore visual arts, performing arts, craft lessons and there is even Yoga classes.     Port Macquarie Horse Riding Centre have an awesome program of rides these holidays, with something for everyone's ability considered. There are team game days, beginner camps, beach rides, winery trail rides or pony rides for the littlies.   • Steam it up and pan for gold

    Timbertown are getting all steamed up with their annual Steam Fair kicking off from 7th July for 3 big days.  Not only is there a great line up of heritage steam engines and machinery, you can take tractor rides, attend damper camp, enjoy live entertainment and all the other fun Timbertown activities. 

  • Goldfields In Timbertown
  • Following on the next week, there's gold at Timbertown as part of the Great Gold Rush.  From 13 - 16 July you can try your luck and pan for real gold, fossick for gemstones and sapphires, and as the saying goes......finders are keepers so their Treasure Hunt is sure to be popular as well. Lots of fun and entertainment for young and old.

  • Surf's up and some fab fun days

    Soul Surfing have some great group lessons for any gromits looking to improve on their skills or test the water for the first time on a board!! Their popular Fab Fun Days include a 2 hour surf lesson, beach games, a game of either ten pin bowling or putt putt golf....and a movie! Check out their website for all the details.

    Find out more about the magic of theatre and take a behind the scenes tour of the  Glasshouse.     The Koala Hospital has a spacious new clinic and raised viewing platform now ready for visitors to look directly through a large glass window into the clinic and watch the staff caring for koalas. Friendly volunteers will take you on a FREE guided tours every day at 3pm.  Take a walk through their new Koalaseum too!

Family friendly winery trail

The family friendly wineries around Port Macquarie have something for everyone. Sit back and relax as you sample a local drop while the kids are entertained with interactive art, farm animals, a massive hedge maze, horse riding and there is even an opportunity for them to learn about our heritage at our oldest winery.
