Port Macquarie is home to so many places where you can get up close and personal with our wildlife. Take a cruise with whales, dolphins or a sea eagle, visit koalas at the Koala Hospital and meander along the golden sands atop an Australian camel.

Here you can appreciate the beauty of where they live in their natural habitat and also see the great work of our locals who work to ensure certain creatures are protected and cared for.  On the water see dolphins play and lead the way as they swim along with many cruises on our scenic river systems, watch Sea Eagles hover above Camden Haven Cruises as they take you on an eco-cruise, or encounter water dragons as you follow a guide on a kayak tour.  Camden-Haven-Cruises-Sea-Eagle.jpg#asset

If connected to the land is more your thing visit the Koala Hospital and meet the volunteers who make this place so special, take their daily Feed, Walk and Talk tour to meet some of the adorable residents, ride aboard a camel safari meandering along Lighthouse Beach or for a truly magical experience take a walk at sunrise or dusk and see kangaroos on Diamond Head beach ....the list goes on.

Jump in the saddle and explore the hinterland on horseback with Bellrowan Valley Horse Riding or feel the freedom of riding along a beach with Port Macquarie Beach Horse Riding.

Our whale watching season runs from May to September and is a spectacular way to see these majestic creatures, either from land or water. The Town Wharf is the best place to start looking for the right type of cruise or head out on the Port Macquarie coastal walk for many vantage points along the way.
