Our fave time of the day, and Port Mac really delivers on the sunset side. Is there anything better than relaxing with a bevvy overlooking the River and/or ocean, with a bit of people watching thrown in? Oh, and next-level snacks which can blend into dinner are also a must.

Our Top 6
1. Little Shack: this place gets a lot of love, for good reason. Perfectly positioned al fresco, on the iconic Breakwall overlooking the river, it’s got a retro holiday vibe, tropical fringed umbrellas and cocktails by the water. Oh, and the food is awesome (you've gotta try the lobster roll and frozen margarita combo), it’s super relaxed (shoes optional), and you'll often find some of Port's best musos and DJs frequently performing here. Open daily from 6am, and Thurs-Sun evenings.
2. Zebu Bar: located on the ground floor of Rydges Hotel, right on Town Green. This recently renovated, casual yet sophisticated bar has great views over the Hastings River (great for dolphin spotting)! Great bar menu and restaurant adjacent. Open 7 days from early morning till late.
3. Banks Cafe: One of Port’s newest cafés on the banks of the Hastings is open Fri & Sat nights, which is great news for everyone as the venue is gorgeous, food on point and the views are sublime! Perfect for Sundowners. It’s a bit of a hidden gem, in a timber cottage at McInerney Park- about a three minute drive from town.
4. Hello Sailor: Right on the Marina, this fun, outdoorsy venue has a reputation for the best margaritas around. Local beer on tap, and a street-food style shack out the back serving up a super fresh and creative menu (including buckets of prawns and po'boys), and often rocking live and local musos, the vibe here is friendly and buzzing, and a little bit nautical! 5. Boathouse Bar & Restaurant: The Hamptons-style splendour of Sails Resort is where you'll find this gem. Enjoy the sophisticated fit-out inside, or venture out onto the deck and lawns, complete with fire pit and a great view over the water. Open 7 days.
6. Chop n Chill: A local favourite and in a prime position on Town Green behind the playground. Super friendly service, great food and good views. Often has live local musicians playing.
