Hello Koalas Sculpture Trail

Hello Koalas Sculpture Trail is the region's most popular tourism attraction, winning 26 major tourism and business awards since launching in 2014. It’s FREE and open every day of the year.

This engaging and accessible Sculpture Trail encompasses 89 one-metre high fibreglass koala sculptures, hand-painted by local artists, on display across Greater Port Macquarie at 68 locations.

The focal point is ‘The Big Koala, Spirit of All Koalas’ (2.5 metres), created by local industrial artist John Belfield and painted by local artist Pauline Roods, on display at ‘Guulabaa, Place of Koala’, corner of the Oxley Highway and Burrawan Forest Drive. Check Google maps for directions.

The Big Koala won Gold in the 2023 Australian Street Art Awards for ‘Best Landmark Sculpture in Australia’ and the Hello Koalas Sculpture Trail won Silver for ‘Best Koala Sculpture Trail in Australia’. Hello Koalas Sculpture Trail also won Gold in the 2022 NSW State Tourism Awards in the category of ‘Tourist Attractions’.

The Hello Koalas Sculpture Gallery & Gift Shop is the headquarters of the Trail with over 20 sculptures on view and the world’s best array of quality koala-themed gifts and toys.
