The Coastal Walk Run
If there’s one route every local runner knows, it’s the iconic Coastal Walk.
Stretching along beaches, rocky headlands and oceanfront paths, this route delivers incredible sea views almost the entire way. Early mornings are pure magic think pastel skies, crashing waves and dolphins occasionally appearing offshore while locals clock up their kilometres before work.

Breakwall to Town Green Loop
This is one of the easiest and most popular runs in town, especially for visitors. Starting near the famous painted rocks at the Breakwall, the route follows the Hastings River past waterfront parks, cafés and walking paths before looping back around Town Green.

Every Saturday morning, the brings locals and visitors together for a scenic 5km run along Port Macquarie’s iconic foreshore. Starting near Breakwall HQ at Town Beach, the course follows a mix of waterfront paths, breakwall stretches and coastal scenery, with runners weaving past the river, Town Green and Town Beach before finishing near the skate park.
The event regularly attracts hundreds of participants each week, with around 400–500 runners, joggers and walkers joining in on busy Saturdays, creating a strong community atmosphere that reflects the town’s active lifestyle.

Trails, Hills and Hidden Gems
Port Macquarie isn’t just beaches. Locals love mixing road running with trail adventures through nearby reserves and hinterland tracks. Sea Acres National Park offers shaded rainforest boardwalks and lush scenery, while nearby hinterland trails and North Brother climbs provide tougher hill sessions with huge rewards. A twilight running event on the Mid North Coast that brings serious energy and atmosphere to the Camden Haven region.

Beach to Brother
From beachside tracks to mountain climbs, Beach to Brother is one of the Mid North Coast’s most iconic running events.
Held annually in the Port Macquarie region, the course takes runners from the coastline through rolling countryside and rainforest trails before finishing with the legendary climb to the summit of North Brother Mountain.
Known for its scenery, supportive atmosphere and challenging course, Beach to Brother attracts everyone from seasoned runners to first-timers chasing a truly memorable race experience.
Port Macquarie Run Fest

One of the biggest running weekends on the Mid North Coast, Run Fest brings together runners of all levels with distances ranging from fun runs to longer race formats.
